Perry Wadsager

Perry J. Wadsager, 74, of Colona passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.

Perry was born October 8, 1950 in Rock Island, IL the son of Peter and Fannie Mae Wadsager. He married Jeanne Benjamin April 24, 1981 in Colona. Perry proudly served in the national guard for several years. He worked different jobs in the area, retiring in 2013. Perry enjoyed being outdoors, camping, fishing, and gardening. He loved spending time with family and his dogs Percy and Winnie. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Jeanne; daughter Kelli (Nick) Behnke of Colona; son Matthew (Tamra VanCleve) Wadsager of Silvis; grandchildren Kayla Behnke, Lyra VanCleve, AdamWadsager, ReillyWadsager, and Amara Wadsager; sisters Shirley Rhodenbaugh of Moline, Ellen (Frankie) Kerr of Hamilton, AL, and Mary (David) Heathcock of Winfield, AL. and several nieces and nephews.

Perry was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Alta Mae Franks and Sharon Wemhaner; brothers Bill Wadsager, Charles Wadsager, and Lyle Wadsager, and his dog Rusty.
