Ramona Meersman

Ramona Rae Meersman, 85, of Silvis passed away Jan. 16, 2015 at Lighthouse of Silvis. A memorial visitation will be 4-6 Thursday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with a rosary at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the National Parkinson's Foundation. Ramona was born Sept. 24, 1929 in Moline the daughter of Eugene and Harriet Hegwood Hoehn. She married Robert Meersman Sept. 23, 1950 in East Moline. He passed away Aug. 15, 2008. Ramona was a homemaker and an insurance adjuster for John Deere Industrial for 25 years retiring in 1995. She was a member of the 47 Club and St. Mary's East Moline Card Club. She enjoyed cake decorating, china painting and was an award winning bowler. Survivors include her daughter Robin (Gary) Lizotte of Mt. Vernon, OH; sons Michael (Judy) Meersman and Patrick (Debra) Meersman both of East Moline; grandchildren Ryan Meersman, Jillian Meersman, Robert Lizotte and Christian Lizotte; great grandson Robert Gary Lizotte; sisters Judith Konitzer and Harriet (Vi) Pollreisz. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert and a brother Richard Hoehn who was a casualty of the Korean Conflict.
