Sharon Ruhl

Sharon G. Ruhl, 77, of Silvis, passed away Jan. 8, 2016, at UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline at a later date. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or Disabled Vets. Sharon was born Nov. 10, 1938, in Fargo, N.D., the daughter of Earl and Shirley Rasmussen Esparza. She married Donald Ruhl on Nov. 24, 1956, in Rock Island. He passed away Dec. 17, 1994. Sharon worked as a caretaker, enjoyed going to the casinos, reading, going out to eat and family gatherings. Survivors include her children, Dianna Ruhl, Eddie Ruhl, Terry Ruhl, Don Ruhl Jr. and Brian (Stephenie Struve) Ruhl; grandchildren, Eric Ruhl, Terrah (Dave) Book, David Ruhl, Brian Ruhl Jr. and Cammie Ruhl; great-grandchildren, Dawson Book, Devin Book and Ethan Ruhl; sister, Janet (Denny) Chapman; brothers, Mickey (Margie), Tommy (Karen) and Richard Esparza; sister-in-law, Ruth LaMusga; sister and brother-in-law, Joan (Bob) Kocmick; and brothers-in-law, William Ruhl and Joe Michl. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Wendy; brother, David; sister (and brother-in-law), Rebecca (Jack) Snyder; sisters-in-law, Lavina Ruhl, Clarice Berry; and brothers-in-law, Eldon Ruhl, John Ruhl and Ted LaMusga.
