Shirley J. Scott

Shirley J. Scott, 87, of Silvis passed away May 13, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be 10am Friday at First Baptist Church, Silvis. Visitation will be 4-7pm Thursday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church.

Shirley was born April 6, 1936 in Galesburg, IL the daughter of Marion and Dorothy "Darlene" (McFarland) Davenport. She married Gerald "Wayne" Scott August 23, 1955 in Silvis. Shirley was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking care of the many children she babysat, arranging flowers for First Baptist Church, reading, and sewing.

Survivors include her husband Wayne; children Gary (Nancy) Scott of Silvis, Brian (Jennifer) Scott of Silvis, Jeane (John) Cropp of Geneseo, Blaine (Cindy) Scott of Silvis, and Jennifer (Dan) Trenary of Moline; grandchildren Ian (Emily) Scott, Jonas (Gretchen) Scott, Colin Scott, Dr. London Scott, Carley (Alex) Turkmani, Olivia (Eric) Frantzen, Lucas (Carlie) Cropp, Eliza (Parker) Courtright, Claire (Adam) Oppendike, Josiah (Lauren) Cropp, Connor (Cassie) Scott, Morgan (Addison) Watkins, Josie Trenary, Mimi Trenary, and Zeb Trenary and 21 great grandchildren.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son Larry Scott, and a sister Marlene Fee.
