Simone Strobbe-Gilmore, 89, of Colona passed away January 6, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center in East Moline.
Funeral services will be 1pm Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary in Silvis with visitation 1 hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
Simone was born Aug. 5, 1928 in Moline, IL the daughter of Cyriel and Hermine Strobbe. She married Loran Gilmore May 24, 1975 in Falls Church, VA. He passed away April 17, 2005. Simone worked at John Deere Harvester for several years. She later worked as a secretary to the General at the Pentagon, retiring after 10 years. Simone enjoyed working in the yard and taking trips.
Survivors include niece Sue (Greg) Shatteman; nephew Joe (Traci) Strobbe; niece in law Darlene Strobbe; sister in law Marjorie Strobbe; several great nieces and nephew and 2 great great nephews.
Simone was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Frank and George Strobbe, sister Mary Herr and nephews Tom and David Strobbe.
