Theresa “Bubbles” Gustaf, 76, of East Moline passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at her home.
Theresa was born July 26, 1949 in the displaced persons camp in Kufstein, Austria, the daughter of Joseph and Teresa (Szitar) Lakner. Theresa enjoyed reading, watching horror movies, and playing the penny slots at the casino. She loved playing bingo and cards on Saturday nights with her sisters and friends, and board games at holiday gatherings with her family.
Survivors include her son, Jim (Wendy) Gustaf; grandchildren, Melanie and Alex; sisters, Kathy Clement and Mary (Leon) Plumb; and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 12:00-3:00pm Sunday, August 23, 2026 at Bally’s Casino and Event Center in Rock Island.
