Thomas G. Genz

Thomas G. Genz, 87, of East Moline passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at MercyOne Genesis Illini Campus in Silvis.

Per his wishes, he will be cremated, and a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Thomas was born June 11, 1938 in Rock Island, IL the son of Wilford and Ida Drexel Genz. He graduated from Rock Island High School in 1956. He served in the National Guard from 1956-1962. Thomas married Lois Beeks July 10, 1965. He worked as a station engineer at the power plant and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, swimming, and playing at the casinos.

Survivors include his wife Lois; daughter Katherine (Vincent) Genz Sotelo; grandchildren Meagan (Jake) Nell Graham Kranich and Sarah Sotelo; great grandchildren Wyatt Kranich and Grayson Kranich and brothers Robert and Frederick Genz.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Bill Moore, Gerald Genz, and Edgar Genz.
