I remember Jim Beeson because he was the only one who came to my rescue when I could have died. He was taking a break outside Building 104, along with others who were standing around and I was on my way to lunch. My Ford malfunctioned and the accelerator stuck as I was forced to try and control a 3000-pound vehicle in a parking lot full of cars and missed a propane truck by inches as the vehicle flung my 155-pound self toward traffic and coming to a stop at last! I was shaking uncontrollably and still cannot recall how I put it into Park, but someone opened the door and quietly talked me out of my vehicle and helped me to get my bearings and it was Mr. Beeson. Needless to say, I didn’t go to lunch; but his response gave me the strength in my knees to walk back to my desk when everyone else just stood there looking at me. I am forever grateful, and I pray for your hearts in the family’s loss.
